June 17, 2026 – The Center for Government Translator and Interpreter
Development (Pusbinter) of the Ministry of State Secretariat organized the 2026
Technical Training Program for Junior Translators as part of its ongoing
efforts to strengthen the competencies of Government Translators serving in the
Functional Position of Translator. The program reflects Pusbinter's commitment,
as the supervisory institution for the Functional Position of Translator, to
enhancing the quality and professionalism of government translators through
sustainable competency development initiatives.
In her
opening remarks, Sri Wahyu Utami, Head of Pusbinter, emphasized that translator
competency development must be carried out in a systematic and continuous
manner to ensure alignment with the competency standards for the Functional
Position of Translator while responding effectively to rapid technological advancements
and the increasingly dynamic needs of government organizations.
"Training
is a structured learning process designed to equip translators with enhanced
skills, knowledge, and professional work attitudes. Through this program,
translators are expected to become more competent, adaptable to change, and
capable of producing high-quality translations that meet professional
standards," she said.
The
2026 Technical Training Program for Junior Translators is designed to provide
participants with a comprehensive understanding of translation practices
appropriate to their career level. The curriculum covers the drafting of
government documents, translation and editing of audiovisual content,
journalistic texts, and government documents. The program places particular
emphasis on hands-on learning, with approximately 70 percent of instructional
time devoted to practical translation exercises and 30 percent to theoretical
instruction.
Through
the training, participants are expected to strengthen both their technical
competencies and their professionalism in carrying out their responsibilities
as government translators. They are also encouraged to make the most of this
learning opportunity to broaden their professional perspectives and further
